Composite semipermeable membrane with improved performance, usable especially for removing water vapour from air, consisting of: - a microporous asymmetric polymeric membrane comprising a dense layer, this membrane comprising from 70 to 95 % of polyvinylidene fluoride or of a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and from 5 to 30 % of a hydrophilic polymer chosen from sulphonated cellulose polyacetates and polysulfones, - a coating layer, made of silicone elastomer, situated on the dense layer of the microporous asymmetric membrane.
