The invention relates to motor vehicle engineering. The subject matter of the application are preferably fuel tanks for diesel fuel, with intake pipe and return line. The essential characteristics of the invention lie in the fact that the base of the fuel tank is drawn inwards in the form of a conical overflow and that above this a pot-shaped mixing chamber is centrally arranged, which is connected to the intake pipe. The mixing chamber has an exposed edge which is joined to the base of the fuel tank at a distance therefrom, so that an annular distributing chamber is produced, which is provided with passages. Under the overflow a collecting chamber is situated below the base of the fuel tank, to which overflow openings arranged next to the mixing chamber lead. Warmed fuel is led through the return line into the distributing chamber and, distributed over the circumference, flows into the mixing chamber. From the collecting chamber cold fuel passes through the open overflow into the mixing chamber and mixes promptly and thoroughly with the warm fuel, so that a fuel mixture is produced which even at low temperatures guarantees normal engine operation due to the good induction properties. <IMAGE>
