<p>A self-flushing fluid apparatus includes a flow-control device between the housing inlet port and an inlet fitting connected to it, which device has two relatively movable flow-control members controlling the flow of the fluid into the housing. The flow control device includes two assemblies each including one of the flow-control members and a spring between the two assemblies and effective: (a) in the presence of pressurized fluid at the inlet fitting to move the two flow-control members to an operative position with respect to each other to control the flow of the fluid from the inlet fitting into the housing; and (b) in the absence of pressurized fluid at the inlet fitting to move the two flow-control members to an inoperative position away from each other, and thereby to produce a self-flushing of the flow-control device by the pressurized fluid in the housing.</p> |
