The bolt lock for a cupboard, window, door etc. has a handle (9), with its spindle (7) inserted into a rotating member (1) forming part of the lock inside a casing. At one side of the rotating member is a sharp-edge metal plate (4), sloping at an angle fitting into an opening (5) and preventing the spindle to be removed after insertion. The plate is supported by a swing arm (10) in contact with a pressure plate (19). In line with the free end of the arm and plate is a hole (22) through the casing, enabling a tool to be inserted to release the metal plate, which is a spring strip. The spindle has a flat surface, and can be e.g. square, triangular or polygonal. ADVANTAGE - Easy fitting, and self-locking spindle.
