<p>A first aiming device has bone attachments mounted on it and fixings also mounted on it. The first aiming arm can be removably attached to a first one of the bones at a first point adjacent or at the end of the first bone within the joint and at a second point on the first bone away from the joint. The first aiming arm includes markings for marking sites for a tunnel in the first of the bones between the two points. A second aiming arm has a bone attachment mounted on it and fixings also mounted. The second aiming arm is removably attached to a second one of the bones at a third point adjacent or at the end of the second bone within the joint and at a fourth point on the second bone away from the joint. The second aiming arm includes markings for sites for a tunnel in the second one of the bones. A tension member connects together the aiming arms, while attached to the bones at the first and third points adjacent or at the ends of the bones within the joint. Excursions exhibited by the tension member are measured as the bones are angularly displaced over a range of motion.</p> |
