The device comprises a screen (27) and a keypad (26) with which are associated mechanical and electrical means for receiving an IC card (5) and for connecting up with this latter and electronic means for operating the keypad (26) and the screen (27) so as to permit access to the electronic component. These electronic means can form part of the screen or of the electronic component of the interrogated card, or else of the electric component of a second card.
