Process for the effective compounding of plasticised PVC mixtures
摘要
The invention relates to the compounding of plasticised PVC mixtures in high-speed mixing machines. The essence of the invention is to make compounding more effective and to increase the output rate of the mixing machines while minimising the energy requirement. According to the invention, PVC is introduced into the mixing machine at room temperatures. The plasticiser is heated in a separate vessel to temperatures above the optimum plasticiser absorption temperature, is kept in the temperature range in a constant temperature container and is then fed to the mixing machine as and when required. The cold PVC absorbs the hot plasticiser immediately and forms a pourable plasticised PVC mix. Diagram 1 shows how the mixing time lessens as a function of the increasing plasticiser temperature.
