PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the uniformity of heating by preventing biased heating in a furnace. SOLUTION: In a vertical type muffle furnace 10 for continuously applying heat treatment by passing a treating material S into a cylindrical muffle 12 arranged in the furnace body 11, on the side walls of the furnace body, one pair of the first regenerative burners 14 at the upper and the lower sides are arranged and also, one pair of the second regenerative burners 15 at the upper and the lower sides are arranged so as to face to almost the same heights as the upper side burner and the lower side burner in the first regenerative burners, respectively. The flame injecting directions of the upper side burners and the lower side burners (14a and 14b, 15a and 15b) in the first and the second regenerative burners, are arranged in the reverse direction in the circular direction, respectively and also, the flame injecting direction of both upper side burners, are arranged in the same direction in the circular direction. The upper side burners and the lower side burners are alternately changed over and either one of the upper or the lower burner is burnt and combustion exhaust gas after burning is exhausted from the other burner. |
