The invention relates to a device for fixing a cyclist's shoe to a bicycle pedal. It is characterised in that the locking means 8 carried by the mounting plate 4 are produced by a pin 10 which is substantially perpendicular to the face 6 of the mounting plate 4 opposite the one 5 which is in contact with the sole 7 of the shoe 2 and carrying at its end 11 a collar 12 whereas the complementary locking means secured to the pedal are formed by a plate fixed onto the longitudinal sides of the pedal at a certain distance from the plane passing through the axis of rotation of the said pedal and having a single groove which is substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the pedal and whose width is substantially equal to the diameter of the pin 10 of the mounting plate 4 and opening out on either side of the transverse sides of the pedal. <IMAGE>
