The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 5-(carbamoyl)-5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine of the formula <IMAGE> by chlorocarbonylation of 5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine of the formula <IMAGE> and ammonolysis of the resulting 5-(chlorocarbonyl)- 5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine of the formula <IMAGE> with gaseous ammonia, in which the chlorocarbonylation of the 5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine of the formula II is carried out using trichloromethyl chloroformate in an apolar aromatic solvent, and the ammonolysis is carried out in the same device without separation and purification of the 5-(chlorocarbonyl)-5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine of the formula III in the unchanged reaction medium. |
