A fuel injection control method is for a fuel injuction pump having a high pressure chamber being communicatable with fuel injection nozzles of an internal combustion engine. Fuel is pressurised in the high pressure chamber and pressurised fuel is delivered therefrom to the fuel injection nozzles, a low pressure chamber, a communicating passageway connected to the high pressure chamber and the low pressure chamber, and a solenoid valve for selectively closing and opening the communicating passageway.
