In a driveline for a vehicle comprising a continuously variable ratio transmission, a first (4) and a second epicyclic gear trains (10) are connected to a transmission variator (1) by a variator output shaft (3) driving the first train planet carrier (6) and the second train sun gear (12). The engine output shaft (2) drives the first train sun gear and the second train annulus (11). The low speed first train output is taken from its annulus (7), and that of the high speed second train from its planet carrier (13), with a synch. shift involving constant variator power.
