This invention presents novel hair fixing compositions comprising copolymers of acrylates or methacrylates, N-substituted acrylamides and acrylic acid. Such materials, when neutralized by an appropriate neutralizing agent exhibit an enhanced tolerance of non-halogenated hydrocarbons, yet also exhibit a high degree of shampoo removability, making them particularly useful in aerosol formulations using non-halogenated hydrocarbon propellants.
