<p>Installation for the automatic production of underwear according to the process which is the subject of any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises: - "x" cutting stations, each associated with a gripper device (14) which deposits the cut pieces (Ds, Dv, Df, F) on to belt conveyors (20, 21, 22) equipped with catching needles (27, 30). - a series of assembly stations (E, G), in which the belts intersect, turn around and/or are positioned opposite one another in order to assemble the pieces which are then sewn, - a spreading-out station (7), in which the assembled piece (57) is spread out and carried by two parallel needle belts, - a station (J) for grasping the spread-out piece by means of a multiple-arm carrier member, the said arm being carried by a structure allowing it to move along two mutually perpendicular axes so as to cause the edge of the fabric to pass in front of elasticating stations comprising a fixed-head sewing machine which applies elastic, braid, lace, etc. and which sews it, - "y" stations (M1 to M4) for elasticating or for stitching braid, lace, etc. -a station (N) for unloading the multiple-arm member, in which the spread-out piece (57) is deposited on tongs carried symmetrically face to face on a belt conveyor, - a folding device (70) consisting of a belt conveyor equipped with gripping means, such as needles (27; 30) or tongs (109), having at least one loop (72, 73), for folding the assembled and elasticated piece (57), - a belt transfer member (74) which transfers the piece folded by the folding device (70) to tongs (75) with U-shaped jaws (75a, 75b), the said tongs (75) having fingers (81 to 84) for opening the finished underwear and for presenting it in front of overturning tongs associated with a blower which overturns them from back to front, moving in front of a first side-stitching station, overturning through 180 DEG and moving in front of a second side-stitching station, and conveying the underwear to an overturning arrangement where it is overturned from back to front. <IMAGE></p> |
