PURPOSE: To prevent the leakage of a lubricating oil from an extended nip press by winding an non-cured elastomeric polymer and a reinforcing mat around a mandrel to form a blanket and then remove the same, and bending both side end portions inward in a radial direction. CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing mat 12 is wound while rotating a mandrel 16, then mold releasing agents 26 and 28 are coated through supply tubes 30 and 32 on the reinforcing mat 12 around first and second horizontal direction side end portions 20 and 22, and then over the side end portions 20 and 22 and a center portion 18, non-cured urethane solution 14 is supplied from a supply tube 38 via a control valve 40, coated on a full surface, and cured to form a blanket 10. Then, the blanket 10 is removed, only the reinforcing mat 12 is cut in a circumferential direction and cut in the vicinity of the side edge portions, and a remaining uncut side end portion 14 is bend inward in a radial direction. Thus, the leakage of a lubricating oil over the blanket from an extended nip press is prevented, and the contamination of a web or a peripheral portion is prevented. |
