To best conform to the propulsive efficiency requirements, the device according to the invention offers an original way of accelerating a flow rate of fluid passing through it. Including an inlet orifice 1 at one end and an outlet orifice at the other end 2, it consists essentially, and in combination, of two concentric bodies of revolution 3 and 4 defining a shaped annular passage 5. The central body 4, secured to the transmission shaft 11, carries blading 6. Since this assembly is given a rotational movement, the flow rate is entrained by the blading towards the annular outlet orifice and is discharged in the form of a hollow jet 8, the centre 9 of which is connected by pipes 10 and 11 to external sources of pressure. <IMAGE>
