A servomotor 25 actuates the pinion 26 of an endless device of "Spirsin" type, whose crown 27 is press fitted on the main axle 28. The pinion 26 can be separated from the crown 27 for disengaging, by means of a hydraulic cylinder 32 whose rod 33 is axially joined to a rack 34 which engages with a gear train 35, 36, thus causing an excentre device 37 to turn through 180 degrees and move the pinion 26 away from the crown 27. There is also a mechanism for pretensioning the rack 34 to push it axially during the initial phase of displacement of the hydraulic cylinder 32 and in which the servomotor 25 turns slowly. To eliminate the play between the transmission gears of the servomotor 25 and the pinion 26 of the "Spirsin", there is an eccentric adjustment ring 48, and the former are mounted on their axles by means of self-centring units 46, 47. <IMAGE>
