In order to produce a plug-in socket seal which is concreted into a pipe socket (13), use is made of a sealing element (11) which comprises an elastic sealing ring (1) and a shuttering collar (4) which reaches as far as the outer face of the socket. Said shuttering collar (4) serves as radially outer delimitation of the deformation and assembly clearance (14) located between sealing ring (1) and outer face of the socket. According to the invention, the shuttering collar (4) of the sealing element (11) consists of a material which is less elastic than the material of the sealing ring (1), preferably of a largely flexurally rigid or stiff material. Consequently, the arrangement of additional radial supporting elements in the clearance (14) can be dispensed with, as a result of which material is saved. An undesired deformation of the shuttering collar (4) during the manufacturing procedure of the concrete pipe, and a resulting disadvantageous reduction in the clearance (14), are ruled out, in the case of the shuttering collar (4) according to the invention, due to material hardness. <IMAGE>
