<p>An enclosed containment apparatus (10) for infection control in postmortem settings, comprising a table (14) having a work surface (26), a hermetically sealed chamber assembly (12) on the top of the table to provide a hermetically sealed environment above the work surface. The chamber (12) comprises a door (44) for providing access to the work surface when opened in order to place a body within the interior of the chamber on the work surface, gloves (50) extending into the chamber for working on the body, a transparent portion (49) through which the work surface is visible, means (72) for introducing decontaminant fluid into the interior of the chamber and means (28) for draining the fluid away from the apparatus.</p> |
