The awning is of the type comprising a frame 1, a cylinder 4 mounted rotatably for the rolling of a canvas 13, a loading bar 14 parallel to the rolling cylinder 4 and means 7-8, 9-10, 17-18, 19-20 for moving the loading bar 14 away from the cylinder by pushing. It is characterised in that the loading bar 14 is connected to carriages 27 and 28 mounted movably along fixed guides 29 and 30 which are rectilinear and substantially perpendicular to the loading bar 14, the means 7-8 for moving the loading bar 14 away being mounted pivotably, in an axis parallel to that of the cylinder 4 and close to the latter, with respect to fixed bearings 37-38. <IMAGE>
