The upper of the shoe is made to have a flexible portion at front to ease pressure on toes. The inner lining which usually stiffens the upper in lining reinforcement is punched to cut out the portion that gives most pressure onto toes, before actually applying it for lining, so that the upper portion of no lining retains its original flexibility to ease the pressure on toes. The punching may be made for any form of perforation, and the punched portion may be covered with a thin soft sheet of cloth.
