The object of the invention is to image an analog timepiece on a display screen without the use of a television camera. A further object is to provide a configuration of the readout of the analog timepiece imaged on the display screen which is clearer for the user. The object is achieved by providing an electronic control unit (32) which drives the display screen (30) in such a way that a dial comprising eleven numerals and one time-neutral symbol is written on the display screen along with the required hands (33, 34, 35).
