The inside of the tubular contacts (20,24) of an autoexpansion, SF6 gas circuit-breaker comprises guide ribs (56,58) arranged so as to oppose any vortex-effect swirling gas flow between the first disconnection chamber (26) and the second expansion chamber. The presence of these ribs improves the dielectric strength of the circuit-breaker and prevents any refiring of the arc inside the contacts.
