N-(2-OXOPYRROLIDIN-1-YL)-ACETYL PIPERA ZINE DERIVATIVES AND DRUG FOR SENILE DEMENTIA

N-[(2-Oxypyrrolidin-1-yl)acetyl!piperazine derivs. of formula (I) and their salts are prepd. by reacting (II) with Hal-SO2R1. In the formulas, R= -SO2R1 or -CONHR2; R1= Me, Et, iPr, nBu, Me2NH, pyridyl, thienyl phenylethenyl, naphthyl; R2= Me, nBu, F=Ph, methoxyphenyl, naphthyl, NH2. Exp. cpds. include 1-((2-oxopyrrolidine-1-yl)aectyl)- 4-methyl sulphonylpiperazine. (I) may be used in the treatment of senile demetia, psychotropic conditions and amnesia.
