PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately acquire a distance range in the depth direction of a space where a subject exists.SOLUTION: A distance range calculation apparatus includes: distance calculation means for calculating a distance image signal constituted by a plurality of subject distances which are distances to a subject in the depth direction by calculating the subject distances for a plurality of pixel positions on the basis of a first image signal and a second image signal; first reliability calculation means for calculating a first reliability indicating the probability of values of the subject distances in the distance image signal; and range calculation means for calculating a distance range which is a range of the subject distances on the basis of the distance image signal and the first reliability.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
