In the AC arc welder, a number of condensers are connected to a primary winding of a main transformer. Some capacitors drives a relay according to the time constant of a current transformer connected to a secondary winding of the main transformer so that the power factor is controlled. Another relay is installed to turn off the primary power in case of the power short or no-load to prevent the power loss.
