<p>Sulphonyl urea derivs. of formula (I) are prepd. by reacting a cpd. of formula (II) with sodium methoxide in an inert solvent i.e. acetone, methylene chloride, DMSO. In the formulae, R=2-substd. benzene or benzyl by methoxycarbonyl; A=C or N atom.</p>
