Sewage sludge with a dry matter content of 25% is turned over in contact with hot surfaces to reach a dry matter content of 45-55%. After agglomeration to particles, a layer of them is traversed by a hot gas stream to attain a dry matter content of over 90%. ADVANTAGE - The drying of sewage sludge is optimised and the amt. of equipment required for it is minimised.
