<p>PURPOSE:To improve the safety by providing a motor for energizing steering torque according to the largeness and direction of steering torque, a judging circuit for judging the high and low to the specific speed or engine speed, a resistance series-connected to the motor, and a switching element between both ends of this resistance. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle speed judging circuit for judging the high and low to the vehicle speed (20-50Km/h) is formed of a vehicle speed sensor 12, an F/V conversion circuit 950, resistances 951, 952 and a fifth comparator 953. When this judging circuit judges the vehicle speed is low, a relay 961 (switching element) short-circuits a resistance 960, so that a large current flows to a motor M7 to energize steering in the specified largeness and direction. When the judg ing circuit judges the speed is high, the relay 961 is opened, and the resistance 960 is series-inserted into the motor M7 so as to suppress the current of the motor M7 and thereby suppress the energizing action of steering. Excess current does not therefore flow in the same direction even if abnormality is generated for some reason during high speed running.</p> |
