<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the structure, obtain compactness and maintain high accuracy by forming a means, for detecting the initial rotating action of an input shaft, of a cam face formed at a ring gear rotated following the initial rotating action and a potentiometer driven by the movement of the came face. CONSTITUTION:When a steering handle is turned in the desired direction, an input shaft 5 is initially rotated in the same direction. Planetary gears 31 are thereby rotated while being rotated on their axes, and a ring gear 37 is also rotated slightly, thus moving a cam face 41. Provided the gear 37 is rotated clockwise, the cam face 41 also moves in the same direction, and a movable pin 49 of a potentiometer 47 is placed in the state indicated by a two-dot chain line. The potentiometer 47 is actuated by the action of the pin 49 to detect the initial rotating action of the input shaft 5 and thereby detect the steering direction and torque. Accordingly, a motor is controlled to actuate a rack 13 in the specified direction in order to perform the specified steering.</p> |
