An electrostatic copying apparatus comprises a rotatable photosensitive member, means for forming a latent electrostatic image on the photosensitive member, developing means, transfer means, means for conveying a copying paper, cleaning means and a heat fixing device. The heat fixing device comprises an electrical heating means and control means for controlling the energization and the deenergization of the heating means. Power control means also controls the amount of electric current supplied to the heating means.
