A method and a device for monitoring the displacement of a moving object with respect to another moving object. The device comprises equipment (10) mounted on a master vehicle (11) and equipment (12) mounted on a slave vehicle (13). Equipment (10) comprises a command module (14), a modulator (15), a transceiver (16) fitted with an antenna (17) and a demodulator (18). The second equipment (12) comprises a transceiver (19) fitted with an antenna (20), a demodulator (21), a signal-shaping stage (20) and a demodulator (23). The aim is to monitor the displacement of the slave vehicle with respect to the master vehicle. <IMAGE>
