Versatile fixture for workpiece location and clamping - has building block design with base plate and sliding co-ordinate bars to locate and clamp workpiece

In a typical arrangement the fixture has a rectangular baseplate (1) with a surrounding frame (3) enclosing the locating area (20) for the workpiece (6). Two bars (4) have co-ordinate movement (7) guided in slots machined in the frame and can be locked in any desired position. A workpiece clamping element (5) fits onto the bar (4) with a push fit by virtue of a rubber spring. There are removable workpiece specific adaptors, fitted to the clamping element(s) to suit the contour of the work and ensure secure location. USE/ADVANTAGE - Work clamping for machining and assembly, especially automatic systems. High flexibility based on building block principle. Reduced stocks of special jigs etc.
