Cleaning of articles by immersing them in organic solvent - and then drying them with warm dry air

The invention concerns a method of cleaning and drying articles by immersing them in a bath (1) containing an organic solvent which is non-halogenated. After removal from the bath, the article is dried by means of warm dry air. After drying the article the air is dried and re-used. The air is dried by a condensation process by passing it through the evaporator (6) of a heat pump (5) so that any vapour in the air is condensed. The dried air is then reheated by passing it through the condenser of the heat pump. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process requires very little energy and does not not harm the environment.
