A connectable portable electronic system having chips comprises one or more integrated chips in a module 24. The electronic component 2 obtained is mounted, in a first embodiment, on an upper surface 10 having metal contacts 30, 40. A lower surface 11 comprises metal contacts 50, 60 which form the connector 8 of the system. Each of the metal contacts 30 of the upper face (10) is connected to an opposite metal contact 50 of the lower surface (11) and vice versa. In a second embodiment, the electronic component 2 is surface-mounted on an upper surface 10 of metal contacts, the lower surface 11 of these contacts forming the connector 8. Such a system is intended to be inserted in a reader which will be connected to the connector (8). Such a system may comprise other electronic components 92, 93 connected together and to the electronic component 2.
