A method and a composition are described for producing shape-stable bodies in the form of briquettes from a particulate material. According to the invention, a composition is produced by the particulate material being mixed with blast furnace slag, as a binding agent, a sodium or potassium compound in the form of hydroxide, sulphate, phosphate or silicate, as a combined binding agent and activating agent, and sodium carbonate, as an accelerator, in predetermined quantities in relation to the particulate material, after which uniform bodies of predetermined shape and size are formed from the mixture by pressing, and the compression-moulded bodies are caused to harden into shape-stable bodies. |
