Diagnosis of pseudorabies in swine comprises detecting antibodies to pseudorabies virus by: (a) adhering and fix antigen to the bottom of petri dish; (b) adding dissolved agar on the antigen and cooling; (c) placing the filter paper contg. a sample of blood on the agar surface; (d) incubating the sample for binding of their antibody to the antigen layer at room temp. for 30-60 min.; (e) removing the agar layer and washing the antigen layer with bound antibody; (f) applying an enzyme-conjugated anti-swine immlunogloblin, incubating and washing to remove excess of conjugate; and (g) applying an agar layer contg. a color producing enzyme and visually measuring the dia. of the resulting coloured reaction zone.
