Orthopaedic shoe sole - has upward curved spring insert with metal plate and insert in leather upper

The orthopaedic shoe has a humped resilient insert (5, 6) supporting the arch of the foot and resting on the sole (1). The curve (5) os the insert is in the form of a smooth, sprung metal plate (6) which is held (4) in the shoe so that it can move slightly backwards and/or forwards. The insert is extended sideways by another insert (9) on the leather upper (2) and which curves inwards and is springy. An air-cushion (10) is positioned underneath the spur of the foot. USE - The foot is supported in a correct position by a sprung insert.
