The warranty ring (1) on the screw cap disclosed has, on the inside (8), retention elements shaped like surface-mounted wedges (9) which taper in the direction (A) in which the cap is screwed off. The wedges act to ease the passage of the warranty ring over the container bulge (17) without excessive friction, as well as strengthening the ring. (Fig. 3)
