An agent for preventing the infection with an antibiotic-resistant staphylococcus, which comprises containing tea or a tea polyphenol compounds as an active component, is disclosed. This agent has a strong antibacterial activity to an antibiotic-resistant staphylococcus, and since the agent comprises tea daily drunk in a large quantity as the active component, there is no fear of occurrence of an adverse side effect.
