The rotor for an impact or hammer mill has cast steel discs welded together, bearing against each other by their widened hubs. Annular weld seams (9) at the outer edges of the hubs (3) join the discs together. The portions of the disc outside the hubs can be spaced sufficiently to allow insertion of welding tongs.
