The method is used for controlling specific gravity (SG) of the prefoamed particle applied for heat insulating board or packaging material. The SG of the particle is minutely varied by changing of temperature, pressure, and humidity in the steam supplied to prefoaming machine. For preventing irregular quality of the particle and producing it continuously, deviation of SG between actual value and setting value is detected and rotation speed (RPM) of raw-material feed screw is controlled. The method has sequential processes of collecting the particle sample regularly, measyring SG of the sample, printing the measuring digital value for analizing, calculating the deviation through comparing values, converting to analog signal and changing RPM or motor for driving the feed screw by th signal.
