ANTI-AIDS PREPARATION

An anti-AIDS preparation comprising, as an active agent, a pharmaceutically effective amount of a polypeptide selected from the group consisting of TNF-.alpha., TNFAM1, TNFAM2, Th.beta.4-AM1, Th.beta.4-AM2, and mixtures of at least two of these polypeptides, a method of treating AIDS in a mammal comprising administerring said preparation to a mammal infected with HIV retroviruses, and a method of preventing the reoccurrence of AIDS in a mammal displaying AIDS symptoms comprising administerring said preparation to said mammal for a period of time sufficient to kill substantially all T4 cells of said mammal infected with HIV retrovirus are disclosed herein.
