摘要

Colorimetric determn. of 0.001-5 mg of cyanide/l, or of cyanide which can be liberated from complexes in presence of complex-formers, by means of picric acid in aq. alkaline media at above room temp., with spectrophotometric measurement of the red cyanide/picrate colour at 520 nm, is carried out continuously by passing a continuous stream of the cyanide soln., and of cpds. for colour formation, liberation of cyanide and adjustment of pH, into a gas-tight system, while maintaining constant concns., heating the mixt. of solns. for 1-60 mins. at 50-120 deg. C in a tubular reactor, bringing the soln. to the temp. for measurement of the extinction, adjusting the pressure to that for the through-flow measuring cell, and measuring the extinction of the soln. flowing through the cell of a spectrophotometer, w.r.t. that of a cyanide-free blank sample.
