This invention consists of a safety device designed to protect chipping tools that perform a relative rotation movement against the processed component.The device comprises an end bushing with a front hole mounted on a driver by means of a coil spring and a pastille. The driver also holds an intermediary bushing, fixed by means of a coil spring connected by screws to the end bushing, and protected against distortion by several dowels. The intermediary bushing is interlocked with a special bushing, which is equipped, on its front area, with an α-angled annular cavity, and on the inside with several grooves engaging with a ring component. The latter is also grooved and it transfers the rotation movement to a tool-holder, which, when the nominal chipping torque of the machine is overrun, causes the hole in the first bushing to overlap with the annular cavity of the special bushing. This allows the pressure air to circulate through a pipe towards a pneumatic motor equipped with a membrane, which sensitises a rod that can interrupt the rotation movement or change the rotating direction.
