Process for the production of L-lysine by fermentation, which comprises the culture, in a medium, of an L-lysine producing mutant belonging to the Corynebacterium genus capable of growing even at 40 DEG C or at a higher temperature and exhibiting resistance to S-(2-aminoethyl)-L-cysteine in order to produce and accumulate L-lysine in the culture medium, and the recovery of the L-lysine from the culture medium, and corresponding mutant.
