The invention relates to a multipurpose episcope which can especially allow day vision with conventional optical means and night vision, for example by means of a light-intensifier tube. This multipurpose episcope, especially for an armoured vehicle, of the type comprising an optical vision device, based on reflectors, and at least one electronic display device, for example for night vision, comprises, between the entrance reflector (14) and the exit reflector (15) of the said optical vision device, reflection means (21) which can move between two extreme positions, the first position allowing the free travel of the light rays (17) between the said entrance (14) and exit (15) reflectors and the second position causing the deflection of the said light rays (17, 17B, 17C) towards electronic processing means, such as, for example, a light-intensifier tube (29). Advantageously, so as to reduce the bulkiness, the said electronic display device comprises a wide-aperture objective (28) having an approximately 90 DEG elbow (bend) in the vicinity downstream of the image. <IMAGE>
