NC milling of two=dimensional surfaces - to ensure that remnant overlapping material is removed overlap being freely selected
摘要
An NC milling machine tool removes metal to form a large surface by moving the cutter (15) on repeated paths (19) that involve changed in direction. If the tool is moved through change in direction (4) without cutter path overlap segments of material remain (12). The system allows for an overlap distance to be selected to remove the unwanted material. The overlap distance is less than the tool radius. Alternatively, the tool is moved along a diagnonal path to remove the material. ADVANTAGE - Avoids leaving unwanted material even for curved contours.
