The invention relates to a method for the detection of status changes of a liquid or gelled medium wherein the difference in phase between a low frequency rectified sinusoidal current supplying a resistance probe placed in the medium and the output signal of said probe to provide an indication of the status change in the medium. The invention also relates to a detection device for implementing such method.
