The roller skate comprises a boot and a roller plate detachably joined together. The roller plate is sectioned into the front and rear roller parts being joined with connecting members to be foldable or detachable for easy carriage when not in use. The assembled roller plate is attahced to the boot sole with strings and hooks provided on both the boot and the plate for use. When disassembled, the boot returns to an ordinary boot or shoe for walk to eliminate the need of carrying another boot for the roller skating.
